Welcome to Bin Buddies! These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of our trash bin handling services. By signing up for or using our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. Please read them carefully.
Service Overview
Bin Buddies provides a trash bin retrieval and return service. We move your bins to the curb on your designated pickup day and return them after collection. Our service follows your local trash collection schedule.
Service Eligibility
To use our services, customers must:
- Provide accurate and up-to-date contact and service address information.
- Ensure the property allows safe and clear access to bins.
- Maintain bins in working condition, including functional wheels and lids.
Customer Responsibilities
- Keep bins in an open and accessible location (not behind locked gates or blocked by vehicles).
- Maintain a safe, hazard-free path to bins.
- Secure pets during service windows.
- Notify Bin Buddies of access changes, scheduling conflicts, or cancellations at least 3 days prior to service.
Booking Requirements
All services must be booked at least 3 days in advance. For one-time bookings submitted late, Bin Buddies may reschedule without refund. Monthly subscriptions booked less than 3 days ahead may begin the following week. Missed initial services due to late booking are not refunded, and the billing start date remains unchanged.
First Service Free Promotion
First time monthly subscribers are eligible for one free service (pickup and return). If you choose not to continue after the free service, no payment is required. To keep your service going, payment must be made before your next scheduled visit. This offer does not apply to past or returning subscribers. One time service customers are not eligible for this promotion, but they can still receive one week free if they upgrade to a weekly plan.
Access Requirements
If bins are blocked or otherwise inaccessible, service may be skipped without refund. Include special access instructions on your form if needed.
Service Window
Bins are moved the evening before or morning of your trash day. We return them within 12 hours of pickup. We do not guarantee exact service times due to variables like traffic and weather.
Weather & Holiday Adjustments
Severe weather may cause delays or cancellations. In those cases, we will attempt to reschedule. Refunds may be offered only if rescheduling is not possible. Holiday service follows your local waste provider’s modified schedule.
Pet Policy
Pets must be secured during service. If a pet prevents access or creates a safety issue, service may be skipped without refund. Bin Buddies is not responsible for gates left open by third parties.
Missed Services & Refunds
If we miss a service due to our error, we’ll reschedule or credit your account. Missed services due to inaccessible bins or incorrect information are not refunded. If trash isn’t collected on your scheduled day, your bin will remain at the curb until your city hauler arrives. Bin Buddies does not return bins that are still full. No refunds will be issued in these cases.
Property & Damage
We are not liable for damage caused by others (e.g., city haulers, wildlife, weather) or for pre-existing damage to your property or bins. Damage claims involving our service must be submitted within 48 hours of service.
Waste Restrictions
We will not handle bins containing prohibited or hazardous waste, including:
- Medical waste
- Flammable substances
- Uncontained broken glass or sharp objects
If these items are found, we may refuse service without refund.
Theft or Vandalism
We are not responsible for bins lost, stolen, or damaged while left out for collection. If your bin goes missing, contact your city waste provider for a replacement.
Subscription & Payments
- All subscription plans auto-renew unless canceled before the billing cycle ends.
- Payments are due each cycle. Stripe retries failed payments for 14 days before canceling service.
- No refunds are issued for partially used service periods.
- Billing starts after your first free service. If payment is not submitted before your next service, we will remove your address from the route.
- To cancel, use the customer portal or contact us. Service remains active until the end of your current cycle. We do not offer partial period refunds.
Payment Processing
All transactions are securely processed through Stripe. Bin Buddies does not store or see your full credit card data. By submitting payment info, you authorize us to charge your plan through Stripe on your billing date.
Service Pause Policy
We offer service pauses as a courtesy to active monthly subscribers who need to temporarily stop service. Pauses are optional and subject to the rules below:
- Duration: Pauses must be for at least 1 full week and no more than 2 weeks. Customers may pause up to 2 times per 6-month period.
- Notice: Requests must be submitted at least 48 hours before the next scheduled service.
- Refunds: We will refund $17.50 for each full skipped week.
- Extended Breaks: If you’ll be gone more than 2 weeks, you must cancel your subscription. You can resubscribe when ready. We cannot reserve your route spot during extended absences.
- Abuse: We reserve the right to deny pause privileges for excessive or repeat requests.
Right to Refuse or Terminate
- Hazardous or unsafe property conditions
- Repeated service interference or blocked access
- Threatening, abusive, or inappropriate conduct
Disputes & Chargebacks
- Disputes must be submitted directly to us before seeking third-party resolution.
- Unresolved disputes may proceed to arbitration (except small claims).
- Chargebacks for valid services will be disputed. Abuse of chargebacks may lead to service denial.
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the state of California.
Communication & Notifications
We will send service alerts, billing notices, and access issues via email or text. Make sure your contact info is up to date to avoid missed communications.
No Service Guarantee
We reserve the right to modify, pause, or discontinue any part of the service with reasonable notice. We do not guarantee permanent availability of service in all areas.
Photo Documentation
We may take time-stamped photos to confirm service completion. These are used for support and internal records only.
Non-Transferability
Subscriptions are tied to the address provided at signup. Service cannot be transferred unless approved by our team in advance.
